What are the cancellation policy available for my listing ?
Choosing the appropriate cancellation policy is of great importance to you as an owner. It can have consequences on your earnings, especially in the case of last-minute cancellations by the renter. As an owner, you have the choice of three cancellation policies:
1. Flexible Cancellation Policy: This policy is the most lenient towards the renter. If they cancel their reservation 24 hours before the embarkation time, they can receive a full refund, except for boatUnity's service fees. However, if they cancel within 24 hours before embarkation or after check-in, they won't be refunded for the first day of rental, but you must refund them for the following rental days if they booked for multiple days.
2. Moderate Cancellation Policy: Under this policy, the renter can receive a full refund, except for boatUnity service fees, if they inform you of their cancellation at least 5 days before their arrival date. In case of cancellation within 5 days of their arrival, they won't be refunded for the first day of rental and will receive only a 50% refund for the remaining rental days. If the renter cancels after check-in, all days spent on board won't be refunded, and they'll receive only a 50% refund for the remaining rental days.
3. Strict Cancellation Policy: With this rigorous policy, the renter can receive a full refund if they cancel their booking within 48 hours of the reservation and simultaneously at least 14 full days before the check-in date and time. If both conditions are not met by the renter, for example, if they cancel their booking 50 hours after the reservation, they are entitled to only a 50% refund for their rental days, regardless of the check-in date. If the renter cancels their reservation less than 7 days before the check-in date and time, they won't receive any refund, and only 50% if they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in.
The choice of the cancellation policy is up to you, but generally, a strict policy is offset by more attractive rental/co-navigation rates.
