How are disputes handled?
At boatUnity, we can provide a mediation service in the event of a dispute between the parties involved in a reservation. However, it is important to note that the rental contract is directly established between the owner and the renter, or between the captain and the co-navigator. Thus, boatUnity does not have the authority to make a final decision regarding the outcome of a dispute.
Mediation Process : If a problem or damage is reported within 14 days of the end of the trip, the owner can open a dispute case from their boatUnity account. Our Resolution Center team will then handle the mediation by collecting additional information from both parties to reach a fair solution.
boatUnity's Role as Mediator : As a mediator, boatUnity acts as an impartial intermediary to facilitate communication and conflict resolution between the owner and the renter, or the captain and the co-navigator. We work to find common ground acceptable to both parties.
In Case of No Agreement : If boatUnity's mediation fails and the parties cannot reach an agreement, we recommend taking the dispute to the competent court for legal resolution.
The goal of the resolution center is to help you resolve your differences in a fair and amicable manner, but it is crucial to understand the limits of our role as a mediator in this process. boatUnity cannot be held responsible for the outcome of the dispute.
