What happens in the event of an incident occurring during the rental or co-navigation?
It is the responsibility of the owner or captain to offer a boat for rental or co-navigation that is well-maintained and compliant with all safety standards, in order to ensure the safety of all persons on board, including their own. However, despite all precautions, breakdowns may occur during the rental. If this happens, the priority is obviously to ensure the safety of the persons on board.
If the breakdown results from a maintenance issue with the boat and causes a forced interruption of more than half of the rental or co-navigation period, the renter or co-navigator may request cancellation and refund proportional to their reservation.
If you decide to maintain the rental, you will no longer be able to request a refund of the reservation for any reason.
If the breakdown is due to mishandling of the boat by the renter, the owner must open a dispute file on our platform. It should be noted that damages will be capped at the amount of the non-retained warranty displayed in the listing.
In the case of co-navigation or rental with a captain, the co-navigator is not supposed to take the helm. If the captain allows the co-navigator to take the helm, the captain assumes full responsibility. Therefore, the owner or captain cannot claim damages due to improper handling of the boat by the co-navigator.
