What is the No-Withholding Guarantee and how it works ?
At boatUnity, we are committed to providing you with worry-free journeys. That's why we've established a no-withholding guarantee system to protect your interests. The amount of this guarantee is determined by the boat owner/captain in their listing.
The non-withheld guarantee, as its name suggests, is not charged to your payment method. Its amount is defined It is nonetheless a protective measure intended to handle any potential disputes that may arise during a booking, though these are infrequent. It acts as a safety net to cover minor damages that may not be covered by insurance, thus preventing unexpected costs.
How It Works : The concept of the no-withholding guarantee is simple. When you confirm a reservation, you contractually commit to cover potential damages up to the amount of the no-withholding guarantee set by the owner. It's essential to note that this amount will neither be charged nor blocked on your payment method, and your financial commitment will be limited to this guarantee during the booking.
After the journey ends, if the owner reports minor damages, they have 14 days to initiate a dispute process.
Handling Disputes : If an issue or damages are reported within 14 days of the journey's conclusion, the owner can open a dispute case from their boatUnity account. Our Resolution Center team will manage the mediation and gather additional information from both parties to reach a fair resolution.
Financial Implications : In the case of a successful resolution, you will be billed the agreed-upon amount with the owner and the dispute resolution center to cover the damages, in a separate transaction that will be subject to a separate payment request from your initial booking.
It's important to note that the co-sailor / tenant's financial responsibility remains limited to the amount of the no-withholding guarantee, providing mutual protection to both boat owners and tenants.
