How to choose the right cancellation policy for my booking ?
When you're exploring the boats available on our platform, there's a crucial element to consider: the cancellation policy. Understanding the various cancellation policies is essential to ensure a peaceful rental experience.
- Flexible Cancellation Policy: This option is ideal for those seeking flexibility. If, for any reason, you need to cancel your reservation, and you do so at least 24 hours before the embarkation time, you can get a full refund, excluding boatUnity service fees. However, if you cancel less than 24 hours before embarkation or after check-in, you won't be reimbursed for the first day of the rental, although the remaining days may be refundable if your reservation covers multiple days.
- Moderate Cancellation Policy: This policy is a compromise. You can receive a full refund if you cancel at least 5 days before the scheduled embarkation date, excluding boatUnity service fees. If the cancellation occurs within 5 days of the embarkation date, you won't be refunded for the first day of the rental, but you can receive a 50% refund for other days if your reservation spans multiple days. If you cancel after check-in, the days spent onboard will not be reimbursed, and you will only receive a 50% refund for the remaining rental days.
- Strict Cancellation Policy: Opting for this policy offers price advantages but less flexibility in case of cancellation. You can receive a full refund, excluding boatUnity service fees, only if you cancel within 48 hours of booking and simultaneously, provided the cancellation takes place at least 14 full days before the embarkation date and time. If these two conditions aren't met, you'll be eligible for only a 50% refund for your rental days, regardless of the check-in date. If you cancel 7 days before the embarkation date and time, you will receive only a 50% refund, and if you cancel less than 7 days before check-in, you won't receive any refund.
In summary, the choice of the cancellation policy is up to the boat owner. However, as a renter, you need to be informed about this policy to make an informed decision when selecting your boat. Make sure you understand the details of the boat's cancellation policy for your nautical adventure, as it can impact your rental experience.
